Orange Triangles over Leasowe

By Anthony Eccles

The following remains an open case and is being investigated by Anthony Eccles, an Investigator for the Merseyside Anomalies Research Association. This is connected somewhat to a similar case that occurred on the Southport coast early in 1994.

Leasowe is situated on the north coast of the Wirral Peninsula on Merseyside.

On a Monday evening of the 16th August1999 at 23:05 GMT, Mr. B. an engineer was out in the garden smoking (his wife does not like him smoking in the house) looking up at the clear night sky. Mr. B. was immediately surprised to see a fast moving orange coloured triangular shaped object flying through the sky. There was no sound to heard from the object.

It was unusual to receive this sort of report due to the fact that most triangular UFOs usually have a set of lights at each corner with a sort of "anti-collision" light in its centre. This object was reported by the engineer to be a dull shape in colour, as Mr. B. says it was "duller to the brightness of the full moon". The object moved very quickly in a straight line from the west to the east and disappeared from view once it had gone over the roofs of neighbouring houses.

Mr. B. was further surprised to turn around and see, approximately ten minutes later, a military style formation of triangular craft.

Each object resembled the one he had seen earlier, and they flew in the same direction as the first but a little slower. It was very difficult for the witness to give a size of the objects as he had no points of reference, they could have high or low in altitude. But he did say that they were smaller than say the full moon as it appears in our sky. What Anthony Eccles feels is that if they are aircraft being secretly developed by British Aerospace’s facility at Warton, why are they orange and why do they risk being seen by the public? Were the objects reflecting the street lights below? Or was the witness merely misperceiving something else instead?

The case is underway at present and Anthony Eccles would like to know if anyone else has seen any unusual sights in the sky in Merseyside at that time.
