Merseytown investigation

During 2001 and 2002 MARA investigators  held 4 vigils and monitored strange psychic phenomena in the grounds of a Merseyside building.  Among the results obtained at the vigils we can include the following:

Unexplained noises, cold spots, high temperatures where there is no apparent heating, MARA investigators spontaneously throwing up at a particular spot, camera equipment not working at a particular spot, unexplained voices recorded on a camcorder and photographs of what an experienced investigator describes as paranormal vortices.  In particular, one investigator  has stated that she believes a prostitute who was murdered in the vicinity about 10 years ago is trying to contact her to reveal the identity of the murderer.  Our investigators have taken photographs of anomalies during the 4 vigils, see below.

There are two small companies which operate from the building and our investigators have interviewed and taken statements from many of the employees who themselves have had many disturbing paranormal experiences in and around the premises.  Unfortunately, the employees do not want to be identified so we will use pseudonyms for the employee names, the name of the companies and town to protect anonymity when we publish the report on this website.

Anomalies caught on camera 1

MARA Investigator Lorraine White felt something approaching her and raised her camera to take a photograph.  At the same time she notified her daughter of what was happening and her daughter took the above photograph Lorraine's request.

This is the photograph that Lorraine took as she felt the anomaly approach her.

Anomalies caught on camera orb and mistMysterious mist and an orb which were not visible at the time the photograph was taken.  The orbs are very common on photographs even when no anomalies are expected and may be a trick of the light.  According to the investigator who took this photo, the ‘smoky’ anomaly that is present was not visible at the time the picture was taken. MARA has since conducted research on a wide range of ‘photographic anomalies’ which points to cigarette smoke or condensing breath being the cause of the anomaly in this photo. However, those present said that no one was smoking at the time, and that temperatures were not cold enough to cause icy breath. MARA members are therefore divided on the conclusions drawn from the photo.

Anomalies caught on camera, mysterious fence

The fence which can be seen faintly disappearing into the wall was not present at the time of the photograph and the camera used for this and the above photographs does not possess a double exposure capability, so we do not know the cause of the anomaly.  The fence does appear to be similar to the one in the photograph with the orb.

A Fourth vigil has now taken place at this location.  On this occasion, the following paranormal events took place:

  • An unexplained temperature drop of 10 degrees C was recorded.

  • Two investigators felt something brush past them in one of the paranormal hotspots.

  • Two camcorders switched themselves off despite having fresh batteries.

One of the two small companies located at these premises has now left.  We have been told that it was for financial reasons rather than the concern of staff over paranormal activity.
